T. (Tácia) Tavares de Aquinas

Tácia graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the Sao Paulo State University School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ-UNESP). During Veterinary School, she was Student Representative at the Internal Medicine Department of FMVZ-UNESP (2011), and member of the academic extension projects 'Friends of the Kennel' (2011-2012), 'Canine Blood Bank' (2012) and 'Open University for the Third Age' (2012).

Tácia received an Undergraduate Research scholarship of the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) between 2012 and 2013. She acted in the following research lines: 1) 'Small Animal Nephrology' and 2) 'Dialysis', in the Small Animal Nephrology Group (NEPA) at the Sao Paulo State University School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ-UNESP).

She also conducted practical internships at the University of Sao Paulo School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ-USP) in the Imaging and Internal Medicine units. Tácia is also member of the Brazilian Society of Veterinary Cardiology (SBCV) since 2013 and has special interest in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, intensive care, nephrology and cardiology of dogs and cats.

Currently, Tácia is a Ph.D. Candidate in a double-degree programme between the University of Groningen and the University of Sao Paulo, studying regenerative medicine approaches for cardiac repair.
