S.E. (Saide Esra) Akdogan, LLM

After completing her bachelors of law at Ankara University as an honor student, Ms. Akdogan worked in a top law office in Ankara, the Bar Association of which she is registered as a qualified lawyer. She also studied at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München for a year. 

Ms. Akdogan graduated from Advanced LLM in European and International Business Law programme of Leiden University with cum laude distinction, with her LLM thesis carying the title of "Revise or Not to Revise: Implications of the Regulatory Approach of the European Union for Trade in Services Provisions under its FTAs with Canada, Japan and Ukraine on Revision of the European Union - Turkey Customs Union". She pursued her studies as a Jean Monnet scholar, funded by the European Union. During her masters, Ms. Akdogan participated the European Law Moot Court competition as well as being a member of Honours Academy of Leiden University. 

Ms. Akdogan currently conducts research at the department of Transboundary Legal Studies at the University of Groningen in the areas of international economic law and European Union law, focusing on external trade of the European Union and international sustainability. She also takes part in teaching of European Union law courses and thesis supervision.
