dr. R.D. (Roel) Freriks
Dr. Roel Freriks (1992) is a health economist working both in industry and academia. He wrote his PhD thesis about the economics of youth mental health, focusing on the value of observational data for clinical and policy decision making. His research combines classical econometrics and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and has received for 3 years in a row a young economist's scholarship of the Royal Economic Society.
Currently Roel works as a Business Director at Asc Academics. Asc Academics is a global market access and HEOR consultancy that combines academic rigor, business insights and creativity to uncover the economic and societal value of healthcare innovations. Additionally, he is appointed Assistant Professor at University of Groningen and Board Member of the Dutch/Flemish Health Economics Association ('Vereniging voor Gezondheidseconomie’).
