M.J. Mullender-Wijnsma

Researcher/teacher

After obtaining her high school diploma in 2003 in Dokkum, Marijke attended the Teachers´ Training College for Primary Education. She received her teaching degree in 2007. After graduating she started with a pre master Educational Sciences at the University of Groningen. She moved on to the master´s program and received her Master’s degree in Educational Sciences (cum laude) in 2009. After completing her studies, Marijke started working as a research assistant at the Groningen Institute for Educational Research (GION). She worked on a Digital Picture Storybooks (DIVO) project. She continued as a researcher and examined the effect of digital picture storybooks on numeracy skills of children in Kindergarten. After finishing this project, she started her PhD project (Fit & Vaardig op school) in 2011 at the Center for Human Movement Sciences. Marijke is currently working as a teacher/researcher at the GION. She is working as a project leader on the Success for All – Nederland project.
