Renewable Energy Strategies: Effective Public Engagement in Climate Policy and Energy Transition (RESPECT)

We devise programmes to include different groups in society and to represent different values in decision making on regional energy strategies (RES). We will study the extent to which such public participation programmes increase public acceptability of local energy projects, such as wind parks. The project is funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) MARET programme.

More information on the RESPECT project can be found: https://www.rug.nl/about-ug/organization/collaboration/research-collaboration/onderzoekenergietransitie/projecten/

Project partners

Our consortium includes key stakeholders in energy transition, namely knowledge institutes, public authorities, market organisations, representatives of the public, and network and knowledge-exchange organisations. They work closely with the research team and will co-create and exchange knowledge for optimising public participation in decision making on sustainable energy transition.
