How to find us dr. J. (Jacob) Jolij

dr. J. Jolij

Assistant professor, theoretical and philosophical psychology

I am primarily interested in 'alternative' (non brain-based) theories of consciousness, such as quantum approaches, Jungian approaches, or Eastern approaches. I study if (and how) such models can be empirically verified, and how they fit in our scientific worldview. The study of exceptional experiences (or parapsychology) is important in this regard, as this field provides potential counterexamples to the mantra "the mind is what the brain does".
