dr. J. Jolij

Assistant professor, theoretical and philosophical psychology

Dr Jacob Jolij (1979) is head of the Department of Research Support BSS, and assistant professor Experimental Psychology. He studied Psychology, Philosophy, Physics, and Sociology of Science in Amsterdam, where he obtained his PhD in 2009 in Victor Lamme's group.  After working in Switzerland and the UK, he was appointed as assistant professor in Groningen. Since 2017 he is head of Research Support, and responsible for the research- and datainfrastructure of the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences.

Besides technical and legal expertise in the area of data management and research methods, Jacob's main expertise is on experimental philosophical study of consciousness.
