In Groningen I am or was involved in the following projects:
- From 2004 - 2007 I was involved in ANITA: Administrative Normative Information Transaction Agents (Supervisor of a PhD student at the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen)
- From 2005 - 2009 I was the project leader of Making Sense of Evidence, a Project funded by the NWO ToKeN programme (Netherlands Organisation of Scientific Research) (One PhD student at Utrecht University and one PhD student at the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen)
- From 2012-2016 I was involved in Designing and Understanding Forensic Bayesian Networks with Arguments and Scenarios, a project funded by the NWO Forensic Science Programme. (One PhD student at Utrecht University and one PhD student at the Department of Artificial Intelligence, University of Groningen)
- Since 2012 I am a supervisor (with Prof. Anne Ruth Mackor) of Mirnah Scholten, on a PhD project titled 'Justifying Decisions of Fact in Criminal Cases', funded by the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen
- Since 2017 I am a supervisor (with Prof. Anne Ruth Mackor) of Hylke Jellema, on an NWO-funded PhD project titled 'Making the Bayesian approach to criminal evidence work: from problems to practice'.
- From 2011-2018 I was a co-organiser of the Summer Schools on Law and Logic, held annually at the European University Institute, Fiesole, Florene (Italy).
- Since 2019 I am a co-organiser of the Summer Schools on AI & Law, to be held annually at the European University Institute, Fiesole, Florene (Italy).
