prof. dr. G.J. ter Horst
Projectleader Top Institute Food and Nutrition, Sensory and Liking (2011-2017); a collaboration between UMCG, Wageningen University, FrieslandCampina and Danone. This project focusses on consumer behavior and aims to identify neurobiological mechanisms that can predict long-term liking or disliking of dairy products. We apply fMRI and tasting of real products in young and elderly men and women, and cancer patients.
Neurobiology of Love and Affection, Heart break and prevention of depression. A MRI project aimed at identifying stress-induced changes in the healty human brain that can lead to depression. We also apply questionnaires and pupil dilatation to access changes in stress coping after heart break and gender differences that make women more susceptible to stress-induced psychopathology.
