Biological Engineer, National University of Colombia, Medellín, Colombia. 2010

MSc.  in Basic Biomedical Sciences.  thesis: Effect of genetic ancestry on cervical cancer”, University of Antioquia, Medellín, Colombia. 2015

Keywords: Genetic data management, Genetic ancestry, Population genetics, Epidemiology.

Research Interests

My research focuses in harnessing of available data from large biobanks to understand the development of complex traits. This can be done by designing and developing models and software for interpretation analysis and annotation of genetic data. I am interested on etiology of traits, but also in population history and evolution.  Whole genome information of current and developing large biobanks throughout the world, provides with specific factors for specific complex traits, as well as the possibility to exploit information of genetic ancestry. This can be used to complete and correct genetic associations that are usually studied only on European ancestry as well as to study genetics of populations and biogeographic history.
