dr. E.A. (Elissa) El Khawli, PhD

PhD Student

Elissa El Khawli is a PhD student in Organizational Psychology at the RUG. Her research focuses on emotion regulation processes at the workplace, and the influence that both lifespan development and job characteristics might have on these mechanisms. Her research interests also include person-environment fit and the influence of (organizational) culture on social identity, affect, behavior, and well-being.
She has previously received her M.Sc. degree in Social, Cognitive, and Affective Neuroscience from the Freie Universität Berlin. She worked on her Master thesis project at the Charité Medical University in Berlin, where she examined the effects of habitual use of adaptive emotion regulation on amygdala-prefrontal functional connectivity in function of different levels of exposure to early-life stress.
