A. Nipyrakis, MSc
I am a graduate of the Physics Department of the University of Crete. I hold a Masters degree in Science Education from the Primary Education Department of the University of Crete supervised by prof. D. Stavrou.
At the present, I am a doctoral student in Science Education under a joint degree programme of the University of Groningen and the University of Crete, supervised by prof. Lucy Avraamidou and prof. Dimitris Stavrou, respectively.
My research is associated with STEM Education, STEM Integration, In-Service STEM Teacher Professional Development, Pre-service STEM Teacher training and Microcomputer-Based Laboratories.
I am participating in the following 3 european Erasmus+ projects: STEM Digital Distance Learning in University Teaching, IDENTITIES: Enlightening Interdisciplinarity in STEM for Teaching, Innovative Schools: Teaching & Learning in Digital STEMLABS.
I have also worked as a teaching assistant in the University of Crete, in specific in the Department of Primary Education courses related to Introductory Physics, Physics Laboratory work, Science Teaching Methodology and STEM Education, as well as in Faculty of Science and Engineering interdisciplinary courses related to STEM Education and Science Teaching Methodology.
I have also worked as a state & private school teacher as well as a private tutor in middle school and high school physics for 11 years.
I have been awarded with the bequest scholarship “Emmanouil Saklampanis” from the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Crete three times (2017,2018,2019), as well as the scholarship from the Special Account for Research Grants (ELKE) of the University of Crete two times (2019, 2020).
