ir. A. Greco, MSc
Angela Greco is a PhD researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the University of Groningen, Campus Fryslân. She is currently visiting at Ivey Business School to work on responsible innovation practices with Professor Bansal. She supports NBS by organizing the Innovating for Sustainability Salons and conducting research for the Innovation Learning Labs.
Through her research activities she worked on a variety of innovation projects aiming at enhancing social and environmental impacts. From 2012 till 2014 she co-created Prêt-à-Loger, a sustainable renovation solution for existing houses, winning five awards at the world competition Solar Decathlon 2014. In 2015, she worked as sustainability and innovation engineer for Techniplan Adviseurs, a building consultancy company based in Rotterdam. Over the past years, she has been collaborating with other organizations on sustainable innovation initiatives, including Climate-KIC, Brainfuel and, Centre for Innovation. As part of her research activities she conducted fieldwork for ARTEK (Greenland) for the Natural Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Northern Periphery Programme. Throughout her PhD, she has helped housing associations to design participatory approaches to improve projects’ social and environmental impacts. Most recently, in 2018, she facilitated design-thinking workshops for the sustainability innovation challenge to investigate the effectiveness of user-centric innovation methods to accelerate business’ sustainable transitions.
Angela volunteered as a member of the committee of representatives of the Energy Community of Young Researchers in 2018, for which she was the author of the column “meet the PhD candidate”. In 2017 she was a funding member of ION (Italiaanse Onderzoekers in Nederlands) a consortium of Italian researchers in the Netherlands funded in collaboration with the Italian Embassy.
Angela holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Delft University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Building Engineering from the University of Naples. Additionally, she completed the Honours International Leadership Programme at the university of Leiden, in the Netherlands.
