Research interests

Andrei Barcaru received his engineering degree in 2009 at the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest, Romania. He received his Ph.D at University of Amsterdam, Van’t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences, Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2017. He is specializing in data analysis for chromatographic and medical applications. The main topics are: (i) applications of Information Theory and Bayesian statistics in medical data analysis, (ii) application of machine learning in data originating from analytical chemistry and life sciences, (iii) developement of new multivariate analysis tools for chemometrics and bioinformatics.

Currently, a member of Human Nutrition and Health group within the department of Laboratory Medicine of UMCG
