The international classroom is a hot topic in higher education. A diverse student population can sometimes force you to make stepwise, sustainable revisions to your teaching and courses. This training will provide you with theory and practical tools (instruction modes, didactical and digital support) how you can adjust and refine your teaching to make it appropriate for an diverse and international group of students.

The course provides information and discusses questions like:

  • How could you apply pedagogical interventions to stimulate intercultural learning through group interaction?
  • How can you work iwth the academic cultural differences (ACD's) that you and your students face in your classroom?
  • How can you revise or refine the design of your course to dovetail with the needs of your international student population?

This course does not require you to work in an international oriented programme, only an interest in teaching diverse and international groups.

  • apply different interventions to stimulate intercultural learning through group interaction and diversity;
  • apply didactical approaches to stimulate a group with international backgrounds to achieve the learning outcomes of your course or class;
  • include the obtained insights regarding ACD's in your teaching practice;
  • revise the design of your course to dovetail with the diverse student population.
