The Storyline Lab investigates the impact of online information disorders (i.e., hate speech, misinformation, propaganda) in the context of crises. The online sphere - composed of an increasing number of avenues where information can be shared - has been shown to enhance situational awareness in emergency situations. At the same time, the rapid evolution of crises and the uncertainty that accompanies them makes them vulnerable to information disorders. The Covid-19 pandemic is just one of the most prominent and recent examples.
