Nowadays one of the most interesting problem in condensed matter is represented by the understanding of the photo-excited many-body processes in cuprates by measuring the time-dependent dielectric function. Among the wide family of the cuprates CuGeO3 represents a quite suitable system for photo-induced charge transfer (CT) time resolved experiments.

Here, after the studies we have reported in the past on the d-d phonon-assisted, CT and Zhang-Rice (ZR) excitations in CuGeO3 ,by XPS, ResPES and RIXS, the first measurements of the TR-dielectric function and theidentification of the main mechanisms related to the d-d and CT photo-excitations will be presented and discussed.
