I will present recent results on generating high-order harmonic (HHG)

pulses at a repetition rate of 1 kHz using the second harmonic, at 400 nm,

of a Ti:Sa amplified laser source. The physical process is described by the

use of the Keldysh parameter, γK, since it parametrizes the first step of the

HHG dynamics, the ionization. The generation with 800 nm wavelength

takes place in the tunneling regime, for γK<<1, while the generation with

the SH is defined by γK≈1.

The main results obtained are the characterization of the phenomenon, in

conditions where the tunneling and the multi-photon ionization mechanism

are competing, and the generation of ultra-short (50 fs) light pulses in the

EUV range, from 15 eV to 40 eV .
