Calculation of the Casimir force between two metallic plates at finite temperature reviled absence of a continuous transition between real and ideal metals. Different approaches to resolve the problem give observable difference in the temperature correction to the force. Arguments of each approach are reviewed critically from the point of view of electrodynamics; up to date experimental situation is briefed. An additional problem with the thermal Casimir force is a thermodynamical one: the Casimir entropy is not going to zero with temperature. Discussion of the problem in the community is surveyed with a special emphasis on the nonlocal effects at low temperatures.
