The speaker will present a calculation of the spectral function for a single hole with linear dispersion in the quantum critical regime of a two-dimensional antiferromagnet. Both renomalization group theory and large N analysis used in this work will be discussed in a selfcontained way. The speaker will introduce Quantum Phase Transitions and the role of impurities in general, and will mainly focus on the motivations behind this investigation which should make this talk accessible for a broad audience.
