The 2DIR lineshapes are affected by conformational fluctuations through their effect on the vibrational frequencies and intermode couplings. These effects were simulated in trialanine using a Green's function solution of a stochastic Liouville equation. It is found that the fluctuations of the Ramachandran angles which hardly affect the linear absorption can effectively be probed by 2DIR.
