This workshop is part of the Young Academy Groningen’s workshop series about mental health in academia. Mental health is crucial for successfully working in academia. Research, education, and outreach are mentally challenging tasks. The needed capacities to concentrate, think creatively, teach inspiringly, solve challenging questions, translate knowledge to society, and collaborate in international interdisciplinary teams require a good mental health or even “mental flourishing”. With experts from different backgrounds, we will discuss the following questions: What aspects of university life challenge our mental health? What can we do to enhance our mental wellbeing? What can we learn from other disciplines to promote our mental wellbeing?
