N2 - In the 19th and first part of the 20th century, a large part of the terps along the North Seacoast have been quarried as fertilizer for sandy and peaty soils. During this process a lot of well-preserved objects were found and collected . Among these were several thousand imported objects of Roman provenance, mostly fragments of terra sigillata (T.S.) vessels, fine tableware. From the terps of the province Friesland 2264 T.S. sherds, found in 124 terps, were described. It will be followed by the research of T.S. from the province Groningen. The 2264 fragments are divided in 582 sherds from by mould decorated vessels and1682 sherds from plain T.S. The decorated sigillata was published in Die Terra Sigillata aus friesischen Terpen, (Volkers 2016)The plain sherds are published in a table with catalogue number, site, size, type, date, region and firm.
