The studies in this dissertation investigate new diagnostic and technologies in endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). In part I dedicated CT- analyses software is investigated that can detect subtle changes in endograft position and apposition. The early detection of endograft changes may lead to less invasive and expensive reinterventions before severe complications occur. Moreover, it may add to a more patient-specific follow-up scheme.

In part Ib the use of EndoAnchors are analysed. Almost 30% of the EndoAnchor implants for treatment of acute or late endoleaks are maldeployed. In the majority of these cases this is due to the use of EndoAnchors beyond the recommended use. For that reason careful preoperative planning and optimization of the intra-operative deployment technique need to be performed. If however, the EndoAnchors are positioned correctly durability is good.

In part II a new stenting method is analysed. Endovascular aneurysm sealing (EVAS) uses polymer filled endobags to fill the aneurysm sac, to provide total sealing and stability of the endograft in the aorta. The studies in this part of the dissertation investigate different directions of migration, accuracy of deployment and preoperative anatomical characteristics that may predict complications. These studies show that in 30% of the patients treated with EVAS complication occur at mid-term follow-up. These complication may be a result of unstable configuration of the EVAS device.
