Adaptive control of port-Hamiltonian systems

Adaptive control is an alternative approach for controlling
systems which are sensitive to parameter uncertainty. With
adaptive control it is possible to estimate parameter errors
and to compensate for those errors. This can result in a better
performance of the controlled system. Some techniques
and results in adaptive control are described in [7] for linear,
nonlinear, single-input and multi-input systems. Adaptive
control for stabilization and tracking control of EulerLagrange
(EL) systems is described in [5]. More recent results
in the field of nonlinear applied adaptive control are
presented in [1], which rely on the notions of immersion and
invariance.
