predicting speed skating performance with automatized analyses
Press/Media: Public Engagement Activities › Popular
Based on a strong collaboration between science, sports practice, and business, a major step is taken in the digitalization of speed skating performance. It is now possible to follow the performance of speed skaters online and in real-time, and to predict their finish times. Thanks to the partners involved - Thialf, KPN, KNSB, Sportunity, and the University of Groningen / Sport Science Institute Groningen - fan experiences of speed skating events can be improved, and clues can be provided to coaches and researchers on how to improve performance.
