About the NAHI

The Netherlands Agronomic Historical Institute (NAHI - founded in Groningen in 1949) is an institute for documentation and research in the field of Dutch agricultural and rural history. Since 1998 the institute is located at the University of Groningen and the Wageningen University and Research Center. Research is done by the staff and fellows. Staff devotes some of its research time within the institute. The institute is a host for research projects financed by external funds.

In the Historia Agriculturae research by the NAHI staff and fellows is published. The series Historia Agriculturae started in 1953 and consist of more than 45 issues.

One of the projects the NAHI started is a bibliography on agricultural history, in which titles on European agricultural and rural history are sorted. This bibliography can be viewed via the University Library of the University of Groningen, Netherlands Agronomic Historical Institute.
