CMEMS Conference: 'Voices of Authority in Premodern Times'

The annual CMEMS Conference is organised by the first year students of the Research Master 'Classical, Medieval, and Early Modern Studies' (CMEMS), who are also the main speakers. ‚ÄčThis year, the theme of the conference will be 'Voices of Authority in Premodern Times.' The various speakers at the conference will engage with topics related to the expression, transmission, and challenging of authority in the classical, medieval, and early modern periods.

The keynote lecture will be given by Prof Dr Faustina Doufikar-Aerts of the Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam) and is titled: 'Alexander the Great in Arabic Tradition: Archetype of Kings and Warlord on a Divine Mission'.
