Lars Rensmann interviewed on 3 Sat Kulturzeit
Last week, Prof. Lars Rensmann was interviewed by the international public television network 3 sat in its most prominent evening show, "3 Sat Kulturzeit." "Kulturzeit" is broadcasted live in the three German-speaking countries Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Prof. Rensmann discussed new research, two new studies on populism, and European and democratic political attitudes ahead of the European elections. Rensmann argues that there are still solid pro-democratic, pro-European and pro-EU majorities across Europe, though increased social and political polarization of the public sphere, especially facilitated through social media and digitally "restructured" public communication, constitute a major challenge for liberal democracy ahead of the European elections.
