Communities in the Plural: Thinking Group Entanglements across the Medieval and Early Modern Worlds
When:Th 04-12-2025Where:Leuven / Online
Medieval and early modern thought presupposes the existence of a multiplicity of intersecting communities with entangled notions of membership, belonging, exclusion, and conflict-resolution. This conference aims to interrogate this multiplicity from a global and interdisciplinary perspective by bringing together scholars from history, politics, philosophy, and law in the European, South Asian, and Islamic traditions during this period. The conference will take place in hybrid format, both in Leuven and online.
