The 10th edition of the bi-annual Slavic and Eastern European Studies in the Low Countries takes place at the University of Groningen, between April 4 and 6. This conference brings together scholars, journalists, educators, activists, and cultural workers based in the Netherlands and Belgium and working in the interdisciplinary Eastern European studies. The three day-programme includes 11 panels, 3 round tables and an opening keynote, during which the participant will discuss their current research in culture, politics, language, and history, making inter-regional and interdisciplinary connections.

Of particular interest for the broader academic public will be the keynote by Alexandra Arkhipova titled Anthropology of Crisis: Anti-War resistance and Aesopian language” and two round tables zooming into the practices of anti-authoritarian protest, the war in Ukraine, and anti-war resistance from local and international perspectives (“Protests in Belarus and Anti-War Resistance in Eastern Europe” and “Producing Knowledge about Eastern Europe in Times of War”). See the programme for details and register before March 27.
