Research workshop "Avant Garde" Techniques in Context

The research workshop “Avant-Garde Techniques in Context is promoted by the Department of History of Art, University of Groningen, within the framework of the ICOG Visiting Research Fellowship dedicated to the theme of «Punctuation/pointillisme» in Early Modern Art.

The workshop is intended as an open presentation and conversation with international scholars and experts about the current research lines in the techniques of Flemish manuscript illumination and painting from the 14th to the 16th century, in connection with early Italian painting. Contributions and talks will particularly focus on the discussion of the proposed theme from the perspective of the artistic literature and the art-historical critical debate from the 20th century up to date.
