Conference venue

Our conference team warmly welcomes you to Groningen, a university town nestled in the north of the Netherlands. Its compact, walkable city centre boasts centuries‑old architecture and the university’s Academy Hall as the inspiring backdrop for our conference. The University of Groningen, founded in 1614, is home to an internationally renowned humanities faculty and a diverse group of scholars working on French history, language, and culture. The city can easily be reached by train from Amsterdam Schiphol airport and offers a wide choice of hotels. We look forward to welcoming the Society for the Study of French History to Groningen!
