Luke van der Koog wins Gratama Start-up Award

Luke van der Koog (GRIP) is the winner of the Gratama Start-up Award 2025 for his activities with the start-up company MimeCure. This is a one-time award, given in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Gratama Foundation. As a postdoc, Luke is developing an innovative protein drug (MC002) that he discovered during his PhD research at GRIP, which has shown promising therapeutic effects against lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Luke has received this EUR 12,500 award because of his clear vision to develop MimeCure, and the exciting potential of MC002 to provide a feasible cure for lung diseases.
