Mini-symposium on nanomedicine (drug delivery)
|When:||Mo 24-09-2018 15:30 - 17:00|
|Where:||Ant. Deusinglaan 1 Groningen 3215-0126|
On the occasion of the PhD defense of Valentina Francia, we are organizing a mini-symposium on drug delivery with a guest speaker on
September 24th at 3.30 pm
(unfortunately the other speaker, Stefaan De Smedt, is unable to attend).
Raymond Schiffelers , Professor of Nanomedicine, Clinical Chemistry and Haematology, UMCU, Utrecht
From liposomes to extracellular vesicles (and back?)Raymond Schiffelers is professor of nanomedicine at UMCU. He has over 20 years of experience with liposomes. Both in his Master studies in Leiden and his PhD in 2001 at Erasmus MC, he worked on liposomal drug targeting. During his post-doctoral fellowship, he was a visiting scientist at Intradigm Corporation (now AparnaBio) where he expanded his expertise on delivery of RNAs. In 2010 he received an ERC Consolidator Grant to combine his expertise on liposomes and RNA to investigate extracellular vesicles as a novel delivery tool
