Travel grants ReMA

For students of the Research Master a system of travel grants (500 euro) is set up for participation in national or international conferences in Europe.

The rules are as follows:

1. Using all the resources available to you, you check out whether there are any (inter)national conferences organized in your own particular field of study and, if so, whether any sessions are planned on topics that may improve your knowledge and understanding of your (intended) field of specialization.
2. You discuss the options with your mentor or supervisor, make a cost-benefit analysis and choose the best option.
3. You may apply for a travel grant 2 times a year: either before the 15th of January for any visit in the following six months (February - July) or before the 15th of June (for August - January). Research Master students are granted one travel grant a year.
4. Grant applications should contain at least the following information:
   
   • your name and address, the name of your mentor;
   • information on the conference:
       - name, place and date;
       - organizing institution(s);
       - theme(s) of the conference;
       - an estimate of the reimbursable costs involved (travel, lodgings and conference fees);
   • expected benefits of participation for your (intended) field of specialization;
   • any contribution that you expect to make to the conference (for example, reading a junior paper);
   • a brief statement, signed by your mentor, that the visit will be conducive to your studies, in particular to the topics that you (intend to) specialize in;
   • a (signed) statement by yourself that you will provide the School with a succinct report on your visit, and especially on what it contributed to your understanding of your (intended) field of specialization, within three weeks after your return.
