Funding and Scholarship Opportunities
Here you will find a non-exhaustive list of scholarship opportunities applicable to research programmes at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Groningen. In order to maximise your chances of successfully receiving financing, it is important to explore as many options as possible, including those which may not be listed here.
Four main categories of scholarships are available:
- Governmental Scholarship Programmes
- Erasmus Mundus Action 2
- Dutch Government and University of Groningen Financing
- University Medical Centre Groningen Abel Tasman Talent Program
‘Bring your own funding’
If there are no ‘employed’ PhD positions in the area of your interest, you can also obtain a PhD position at the UMCG through self-acquired funding. This could be a scholarship or grant from your own government, or you can try and find individual funding. To ensure a decent standard of living, you will need about €1250 per month.
If you have acquired funding to start a PhD position and are looking for an excellent supervisor or PhD position at the University Medical Center Groningen and/or the University of Groningen, please contact Joyce Fongers (firstname.lastname@example.org).
