If you are conducting your PhD with us, and you are experiencing distress or problems of any kind during your trajectory, please know that both the UMCG and University of Groningen offers several resources to help you.

Confidential advice - UMCG

PhD students who encounter difficulties during their PhD period have the opportunity to get in touch with a confidential advisor. Matters can range from undesirable behavior, unequal treatment or work related problems (lack in supervision, delays etc.), to private situations which the PhD student does not want or can discuss with the (daily) supervisor(s) or colleagues, hindering in conducting the daily work. The confidential advisor acts as an independent entity and all meetings are always considered confidential. The confidential advisor can advise and help in making a plan how to reach a solution for your problem. No action will be taken without explicit permission of the PhD student.
