A science elective is a JSM activity to enable enthusiastic and motivated students to get involved in current scientific research at a specific department within the UMCG. Students will be given a theoretical and practical introduction to fundamental and clinical research within the selected discipline and they will be trained in scientific skills such as critical thinking and scientific reasoning. Participants will gain an understanding of the main developments in current research and the contributions made by the research institutes of the UMCG. Under supervision students will be given an opportunity to participate in theoretical or practical work within the scope of ongoing research.
