Approach

A new holistic approach is needed that starts from the synthesis of materials that display adaptability and complex connectivity. We will consider various systems approaches, e.g. modelling complexity involving networks and stochasticity. In particular, we focus on self-organization and adaptability. They will form the basis for devices and electronic circuits that are scalable beyond current solutions and are able to naturally support deep machine learning algorithms in order to emulate human cognition in certain complex functions, such as pattern recognition, image analysis or identification.
