Students MA East Asian Studies visit Ministry of FA and Clingendael, The Hague

Ten students of the MA East Asian Studies participated in a workshop at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Netherlands thinktank Clingendael, The Hague.

At the Ministry the students were welcomed by staff of the Azie Carrousel, including diplomats Arjen van den Berg and Martijn van Lith, and an intern. The students were briefed on East Asian affairs and the operations of the Ministry regarding East  Asia. Later in the day the group was welcomed at Clingendael, a leading thinktank researching security and EU matters, by Frans-Paul van der Putten. Mr. van der Putten introduced his research on China, the institute's policy advise to the Dutch government and its trainingprogramme for East Asian diplomats.

The study visit was organised by the MA EAS coordinator Yongjun Zhao on behalf of CEASG, and followsan earlier study visit to the Hague in January 2015.
