In the summer of 2016, the University hopes to organize another alumni trip. This time to Mongolia, the `Land of the Blue Sky '. This impressive land that is 45 times as large as the Netherlands, has a wide variety of landscapes with high mountains, beautiful lakes, deserts, grasslands, forests and unique wildlife. It is one of the last unspoiled travel destinations in Asia.
The trip to Mongolia will be accompanied by prof.dr.mr. Tjalling Halbertsma. Halbertsma is director of the Centre for East Asian Studies Groningen and professor of East Asian Studies, with a focus on Mongolia. He has been active in China and Mongolia, including as the first Dutch diplomat in Mongolia for the Dutch Embassy in Beijing (see www.halbertsma.com).
