International Symposium on Urbanisation in China and Implications for Africa's Development

Wanneer:do 27-10-2016

Funded by the Ford Foundation and organized jointly by the Globalisation Studies Groningen and Centre for East Asian Studies Groningen, this symposium invites experts in China's development and China-Africa development cooperation from Europe and Africa to explore and discuss some crucial issues concerning China's urbanisation processes. China's experiences and lessons learnt in tackling the political, economic, planning, social, environmental and health dimensions will also shed light on our understanding of Africa's own development paths and China's support for its development. This symposium is to contribute to a better understanding of the issues concerned, to stimulate new ways of thinking of development and to forge partnerships for research cooperation.
