Lecture: 'Chinese and Portuguese navigation skills in the early 15th century' by Prof. Zhang Li

On 25 September 2015 Prof. Zhang Li will give a lecture about Chinese and Portuguese navigation skills in the early 15th century. Prof. Zhang Li is from the year 2009 to the present full-time professor at the Department of Economics, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Beihang University in Beijing. Previously she taught at the Institute of Economics of Nankai University from 2004 to 2009. She obtained her doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
She conducted research at the Sinological Institute, Leiden University, the Netherlands, and from 1986 to 1991 was assistant teacher at the Institute of Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). She specializes in global economic history, especially in the Ming and Qing economy and the economy of the transition period to the Chinese modern age. Read more
