Bremen-Groningen Online Workshops on Multimodality

The Bremen-Groningen Online Workshops on Multimodality is a series of workshops organized around various topics and themes of recent multimodality research in order to discuss newest research questions, newly developed methods and frameworks, and/or latest results from empirical work. Speakers from all over the world and with various research backgrounds present current work, explorative ideas and frameworks, new proposals and cross-disciplinary initiatives, or simply 'stuff' they are interested in. The underlying and guiding orientation for all talks is multimodality in its broadest sense with attention paid to close analysis and/or essential philosophical/semiotic foundations - ideally linked together. Various artefact or performance types are addressed and models are drawn from any disciplinary background. The series is organized by John Bateman, University of Bremen, and Janina Wildfeuer, University of Groningen, as a sequel to the Bremen Conferences on Multimodality (2014-2019 at the University of Bremen).
