The Young Academy is a platform within the KNAW of young top scientists with an innovative vision on science and science policy. Members of De Jonge Akademie provide advice to universities about research policy and also organize public activities to strengthen the link between science and society.
In 2014, Martijn Wieling became member of the The Young Academy and in 2018 the KNAW announced that he is elected vice chair.
Belle Derks, professor of Social & Organizational Psychology at Utrecht University was elected as chairman by the members of De Jonge Akademie. Stefan van der Stigchel (Utrecht University) will also join the board that further consists of Behnam Taebi (Delft University of Technology) and Patricia Dankers (Eindhoven University of Technology).
