What are you currently working on? And how is a gender and diversity perspective important in your research?

This PhD-research project focuses on the integration of women in the Dutch armed forces from a historical perspective (1951-2017). Departing from theories on civil-military relations and gender, this research will analyze how attitudes of political elites, military officials and the general public on women in combat have changed and how this has affected women's military participation during this period of time.
