Title:
Model reduction for nonlinear large-scale systems
Abstract:
With the growing complexity of engineering systems such as electrical power grids, smart manufacturing systems, or intelligent transportation systems, descriptive models of the dynamics of such systems are increasingly large-scale. At the same time, stricter performance requirements call for accurate models in which nonlinearities cannot be neglected. To enable analysis and controller design for these engineering systems, mathematical tools are needed that reduce the complexity of their models. In this presentation, two approaches for model reduction of nonlinear systems will be discussed, which focus on the preservation of relevant model properties such as stability and the computation of a-priori bounds on the reduction error.
