Title: Integrated renewable energy system with energy storage

(But I will also include my ongoing EU SEMIAH project, as well as other projects (Zero Energy Building project, Home Energy management System, etc) to provide overview of my research activities / background.)

Abstract:

For effective integration of renewable energy system in the distributed power system network, a proper energy storage is required. Electrolytic hydrogen offers a promising alternative for long-term energy storage of renewable energy. The excess energy produced from renewable energy sources, with respect to the load requirement, can be sent to the electrolyzer for hydrogen production and storage. When energy produced from the renewable energy sources become insufficient, with respect to the load requirement, the stored electrolytic hydrogen can be fed to a fuel cell for producing required electricity. The renewable energy system components have substantially different voltage-current characteristics and they need to be integrated through proper power conditioning devices on a dc bus (making as a reference) for autonomous operation by using a control system. In this lecture, performance analysis / operational results of developed renewable energy system with energy storage in the form of electrolytic hydrogen will be presented for autonomous operation and energy management of the system. The experimental results clearly indicate that renewable energy system based on hydrogen
