Title:

Exploring New Models for Improving the Management of Organizations

ABSTRACT

Organizations are drowning in various systems and data. Software systems these days become more and more complex. The amount of data produced is growing exponentially. My research has been focused on establishing a supporting environment to help engineers to develop higher quality systems, to assist managers to better undertake improved management, and ultimately to make organizations more profitable. To provide crucial support in comprehension, efficient development, and effective management of a software system, we designed and developed a traceability system, DCTracVis. This system takes advantage of the strengths of the three techniques (Regular Expressions, Key Phrases, and Clustering) to ameliorate limitations of IR models. To support smarter hiring choices, we built Visual Resume, a novel tool that aggregates information on contributions across two different types of peer production sites (a code hosting site and a technical Q&A forum). Visual Resume displays summaries of developers’ contributions, and facilitates pairwise comparisons of candidates through a card-based design. Recently, we have been focusing on retrieving relationships among unstructured data to more accurately identify potential problems and predicting future behavior. We are proposing an approach that uses software traceability technology to retrieve high-quality data association network to process and analyse the correlation of unstructured data
